WIAA Soccer Officiating
Connecting with high school soccer assignors, Athletic Directors & Conference Commissioners
After you have made the decision to become WIAA certified in soccer you will need to find a way to receive games to work. Many schools assign soccer games directly through their Athletic Department, other have a referee unit handle this task for them. Conference games are usually handled in a similar manner where the commissioner may assign all the conference games or have a referee unit assign the officials for him or her. Attached below are documents which list the WIAA conference commissioners and recognized officials associations. Use these list to help you make contact with assignors and Athletic Directors/Conference Commissioners so you can get your name out there and pick up a few soccer games. In southeastern Wisconsin, the Southern Wisconsin Soccer Referee Unit(SWSRU) handles assigning officials to all soccer games for over 20 schools. Barrett Britt is the assignor. To contact someone in the unit send an email to Barrett Britt letting him know you are interested in working games for schools the SWSRU assigns. Attached below is the SWSRU new member questionnaire which will need to be filled out and sent to Barrett at bcbritt@gmail.com. This questionnaire helps the SWSRU board to get to know you as an official better and determine which games in our area of assigning you would be able to make easiest.
